The new Diploma has been developed by the Diploma Development Partnership led by five Sector Skill Councils and ECITB, as well as employers, higher education and schools.
- ConstructionSkills
ConstructionSkills is the Sector Skills Council for Construction and covers the whole construction industry from craft through to the professional occupations, throughout the UK.
ConstructionSkills’ role is to enable employers to change the way that education and training within the industry is delivered and funded, so that schools, colleges and universities provide the skills training that employers want.

- SummitSkills
SummitSkills is the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector, which encompasses the electrotechnical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing industries.
As well as developing the 14-19 Construction and the Built Environment Diploma, SummitSkills is also working with partners on the 14-19 Engineering Diploma. Both diplomas will impact greatly on the sector's employers and its future workforce.

- Asset Skills
Asset Skills is the Sector Skills Council for the property, housing, facilities management and cleaning industries. The Construction & the Built Environment Diploma crosses into a number of our sectors and would help anyone interested in working as a: Surveyor, town planner, housing manager, caretaker, facilities manager or cleaning supervisor.

- Energy & Utility Skills
Energy & Utility Skills is the Sector Skills Council for the electricity, gas, waste management and water industries. Employer-led, it aims to identify employers' skills needs and provide effective solutions to improve business performance.
Energy & Utility Skills is involved in work in three diploma development partnerships, seeing this work as providing new and worthwhile opportunities for students and contributing to developing the workforce of the future.

- Proskills
Proskills is the Sector Skill Council for the process and manufacturing industries, including coatings, extractives, building products, glass, furniture and paper.
Proskills is firmly rooted in the industries it serves and sees its role as orchestrating the delivery of training to meet the skills requirements of these industries. Proskills is committed to working with partners to ensure the C&BE Diploma is successfully delivered.

- ECITB
The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) oversees the industry’s vital role in designing, constructing and maintaining process plants for the oil, gas, water, environmental, food, power generation, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
ECITB seeks to attract new entrants to the industry, to develop the skills and competence of employees within the industry, and to increase the capability of the industry to compete effectively in world markets.
